Olton had at least a draw, after wins from Mick & Courtney Kerr.
John Clulee lost his game and Pete Singh had adjourned in a poor position.
However, he was able to turn this around for a win to take the match.
Westminster v Olton
John Clulee struggled on board 1, but Mick Kerr drew on two. Bill
Yeomans had a good win on board 3, but Courtney Kerr lost on four.
Olton v West Mids Police
John Clulee drew on top board and Mick Kerr drew on two. Bill Yeomans
lost on three, but Courtney Kerr won on bottom board.
Wolseley v Olton
John Clulee lost on top board and Bill Yeomans, Mick Kerr and
Courtney Kerr all drew.
Greenlands v Olton
This time, John Clulee and Bill Yeomans lost, but Mick Kerr drew and
Courtney Kerr scored a win.
Olton v Kynoch/Barn
A 2½-1½ win included a win for Courtney Kerr on board 3. Mike Kerr
won top board and Bill Yeomans drew bottom board, but John Clulee lost on board
2.
Olton v Halesowen
Almost a whitewash, as Mick Kerr, John Clulee and Bill Yeomans all
recorded wins. Courtney Kerr had the early advantage on board 3, but looked to
have blundered. He managed to hold out for a draw, though.
Olton v Tamworth
Courtney Kerr on board 3 was playing his second friendly game by
8:15, having won some time earlier. Bill Yeomans went a piece up and won
eventually on four. Mick Kerr had a comfortable win on top board and Pete Singh
slowly crushed his opponent on board 2.
Kynoch/Barn B v Olton
Mick Kerr lost on top board, but John Clulee levelled the score with
a win on two. Courtney Kerr scored a draw on board 3 and Bill Yeomans wrapped it
up with a win on bottom board.
Aldridge v Olton
The match was played at Olton's venue. John Clulee and Courtney Kerr won
comfortably on the night, but Bill Yeomans lost on bottom board. Mick Kerr
on board 1 adjourned, but the game was won without resumption.
